The Hawaii Island Humane Society is working towards rescuing 80+ dogs from a property in South Kona. Caring for too many animals can be difficult, so the owner has come to us for help... and now we need your help!
If you are able to foster, please call us at 808-329-1175. Fosters will ideally be able to care for the dog(s) until they are ready to be adopted, or they help find a home for the dog. For most of the dogs, that just means getting them up to an ideal weight and having a place to recuperate.
For the most part, the dogs we have seen appear to not have any serious medical conditions. Before going out to foster, every dog will be health examined by our veterinarian, vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. If there are any dogs that need medical treatment we will either treat them at our shelter or send them out to foster with the necessary medications.
If you are interested in fostering, please give us a call at 808-329-1175 and provide your information. If you are unable to foster but would like to help, please consider donating items such as towels, dog beds, food/water bowls and dog toys to the shelters, or a monetary donation here. Our Amazon Wish List with some of these items can be found here .
If you have any questions, please feel free to give us a call at 808-329-1175.
