Bring your canine friends out for some well-deserved exercise and fun at one of three Hawaii Island Humane Society's dog parks. The facility hours are below, along with the closure schedule for volunteer programs such as Jr. Pals and New Leash on Life.
Animal Community Center's Central Bark Park
Location: 78-6767 Mamalahoa Hwy. Holualoa, HI 96725 Map
Keauhou Mauka by the Water Department
Hours: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 9:00am-4:00pm
Central Bark Parks are controlled and maintained by HIHS. If you would like to volunteer to open/close the parks and maintain the facilities, please email Bebe Ackerman at email@example.com
Kea'au Shelter's Bark Park
Location: 16-873 Keaau Pahoa Hwy, Keaau, HI 96749 Map
Hours: Monday - Friday: 7am-9am, 4:30pm-5:30pm, Saturday: 7am-9am
There are two Bark Parks at the Kea'au shelter, one for large breed dogs and the other for small dogs under 30 pounds.
All Bark Parks are controlled and maintained by HIHS. They are the only public, off-leash dog parks on the island.
Entry into the Central Bark Dog Park is at the risk of owners and handlers of dogs. Owners and handlers are responsible for the behavior of their dogs, and are solely liable for any damage to property, persons, or other animals caused by their dog(s).
